The AMIR project successfully completes its initial phase

The AMIR project, one of the international projects in which the ABD Group participates, has successfully completed its initial phase after just over six months. In each participating country, national working groups composed of local authorities, civil society organisations and representatives of migrants have produced a country report analysing local needs, challenges and effective practices in the fields of employment, housing and financial education. These reports have been compiled and synthesised into a European Report, which provides a comparative overview and highlights common trends across countries.

Based on these findings, the project has developed a shared Integration Strategy, establishing a common vision and principles to guide local actions.

This integration strategy and the national reports were presented during the transnational meeting held on 15 and 16 July in Barcelona.

The event was an opportunity to exchange perspectives and align approaches, and marked the launch of a joint effort to finalise the project’s two main tools: the Peer Mentoring Programme, designed to support migrant youth through personalised guidance and empowerment, and the Training Package for local actors, aimed at strengthening inclusive practices and institutional capacity. The implementation phase will begin in the coming months in all partner countries.

Apart from the work agenda, there was time for some leisurely activities. Attendees had the opportunity to take part in Migrantour, a guided tour led by a migrant in Barcelona to learn about the city’s multicultural richness and diversity through an intercultural walk.
