The #edu4sdgs project held its summer school in Riga from 19 to 23 May, with students from Poland, Lithuania and Spain taking part. Organised by Riga Technical University (RTU), the event focused on sustainability, emotional intelligence and social responsibility, equipping young people with the skills and mindset to drive meaningful change in their communities.
During the week, students participated in reading activities to promote reflection, emotional intelligence training, networking activities, and opportunities to interact with local NGOs. They also took part in structured debates, encouraging critical thinking and collaboration on the challenges of today’s world.
23 students were named Agents of Change during the summer school and are now inspiring their peers to take meaningful action towards the SDGs using emotional intelligence. All member entities of the project – Lodz University of Technology (TUL), the Accreditation Council for Entrepreneurial and Engaged Universities ACEEU (ACEEU), the Welfare and Development Association ABD – ABD Group, Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and Team Coaching Rafal Nykiel (Team Coaching) – joined the RIGAS TEHNISKA UNIVERSITATE team as facilitators, helping to deliver an engaging and impactful programme for the students.

City game
As part of the Summer School, students had the opportunity to participate in the #edu4sdgs City Game. Divided into seven groups and guided by the project’s partner organisations, they explored six different games around the Riga campus. The game was designed to raise awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and strengthen emotional intelligence, leadership and community building, all of which are essential skills for the next generation of change agents.
