About twenty youngsters take part in the volunteer day of Youth+ in Balaguer

They have carried out activities of knowledge of Catalan and Spanish culture, personal exchange and have been able to resolve some doubts about their inclusion process

Twenty young migrant people participated on Saturday 27th of August in the volunteer day organized by the youngsters that are taking part in the European Youth+ project in Balaguer, Lleida. Throughout the day, they have carried out non-formal education activities to learn to communicate and meet other people, games about Catalan and Spanish culture and have been able to resolve, with young people who have lived the same process, some doubts about the transition to autonomy.

Ayoub, Bader, Omar, Hakim, Majdouli, Mehdi, Amine and Salah were responsible for leading the activities along with the ABD professionals, following the work done in Hungary during the exchange with the young Hungarians of the Youth+ project. Despite the initial nerves of the presentations, they broke the ice with some games to generate energy, encourage active participation and get to know each other.

Young people of different origins, with different life experiences and living in different centers managed by Intress in various localities in Catalonia shared a day of personal but also practical knowledge. Thus, after lunch, the young boys and girl who are part of the Youth+ project, and who are already in the transitional phase towards autonomy, resolved some of their colleagues’ doubts about the rules of the supervised flats for young people aged 18 to 21, the documentation to be able to reside and work in Spain or existing training options.

Both ABD and Intress professionals and Youth+ youngsters invited their peers to participate in another exchange day in October near Igualada and ended the day with a fun group photo.

YOUTH+ has as its main mission the development and training of youth professionals for the support and accompaniment of self-managed initiatives from groups of young people at risk of social vulnerability.

The project is coordinated by the Hungarian organization Élményakadémia in collaboration with ABD in Spain, Via Kreation in Germany and OBR in Romania. The initiative, financed by the European program Erasmus+ KA2, is carried out from November 2021 to February 2024 through various specific actions both at international and local level.
