ABD have attended more than 125,000 people during 2020

During 2020, the ABD Group served 125,841 people, 7% more than in 2019. This task has been possible thanks to the work of 1,551 professionals and 467 volunteers and collaborators. We have woven a network with more than 120 entities and platforms from the administration and the Third Sector. In addition, we have executed 8 international projects with 12 countries to promote the exchange of knowledge and social innovation

Given the global emergency created by the Covid-19 pandemic from the ABD Welfare and Development Association we have maintained face-to-face care, we have adapted to telematic care and we have promoted new resources such as a first reception center for homeless people with addictions , a social emergency reception facility aimed at families in vulnerable situations and four floors for single-mother families. We have also developed specialized Covid-19 teams in home care services and residences

The ABD Welfare and Development Association 2020 Report and Social Balance is now available. An unprecedented year marked by the health, social and economic crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Faced with this exceptional scenario, from the very beginning, at the ABD Welfare and Development Association, we have worked to build a social front and thus avoid even more devastating consequences for people who are in a situation of vulnerability.

With the Covid-19, we have been challenged by the emergency experienced by the families and people we care for in the organization. The commitment to all of them made us adapt very quickly to telematic care, so as not to leave anyone without coverage. In addition, we have promoted new resources:

  • First reception center for homeless people with addictions.
  • Social emergency reception device aimed at families in a vulnerable situation.
  • Equipment specialized in covid-19 in home care services and residences.
  • Four flats for single-parent families.
  • #Yositeveo donation campaign, to provide financial support to families who do not have basic needs covered.

The exceptionality of the moment has brought to light the vocation we carry within it in its fullest expression. Professionals, volunteers and all those who are part of the social base of the organization have beaten together at the same pace and in the same direction. Together we have worked to guarantee social rights. We have responded to the urgency without forgetting activism, empowerment and mutual aid.

The action of the ABD Group in 2020, we are the Third Sector

During 2020, the ABD Group served 125,841 people, 7% more than in 2019. This task has been possible thanks to the work of 1,551 professionals and 467 volunteers and collaborators. We have woven a network with more than 120 entities and platforms from the administration and the Third Sector. In addition, we have executed 8 international projects with 12 countries to promote the exchange of knowledge and social innovation.

ABD’s social action is transversal, because we stand by people and communities living in situations as diverse as intellectual disability, health and mental health problems, lack of basic goods — such as housing or energy, gender-based violence or child abuse, the simple fact of growing up or migrating to another country, drug use, discrimination on the grounds of gender, ethnicity or origin, or lack of access to services or employment.
