It will be held on February 23 and will feature two round tables on the social inclusion of migrants and refugees in the textile field and the use of fashion and design as a tool for social transformation
On February 23, 2023 Fashion 4 Inclusion celebrates the closing event Sustainable Design and Fashion for Social Inclusion in Madrid, with the presentation of results and impact of the project and two round tables: the first on “European good practices in the textile field to promote the social inclusion of migrants and refugees” and the second on “design as a tool for social transformation”.
These two spaces will provide opportunity, on the one hand, to share the experiences of initiatives related to the project such as Mamalyona (Barcelona), Social Chic (Bologna) and Fabric Republic (Athens) and, on the other hand, to learn about initiatives of social transformation through fashion and design such as the Pantera brand of the Street Vendors Union of Madrid, the ethical fashion of Orgullo Raíces in Barcelona or the educational projects of Ojalá Projects from Barcelona.
The day will end with a practical activity thanks to the workshop given by Artur Caellas from BAU Centro Universitario de Artes y Diseño “Exploring intercultural sensitivity through creative processes”.
The language used during the event will be mainly in Spanish but there will be a simultaneous translation service for the interventions in English.
The conference will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Municipal School of Music and Dance María Dolores Pradera (C. de la Farmacia, 13) in Madrid.
