The initiative, coordinated by the ABD Welfare and Development Association, seeks to create a common approach to address the challenges of caring for homeless people with complex health problems and trauma.
The ‘Home4Health’ project has been launched, a European initiative that seeks to create a common framework to address the challenges of caring for homeless people with complex health problems and trauma, such as addictions. Coordinated by the ABD Welfare and Development Association, the main objective of the project is to increase professional development opportunities and share experiences of good practices at the European level.
Creating a Framework for Social Inclusion
The main motivation is to help civil society organizations, public institutions and public authorities to address, from a socially inclusive perspective, the challenges that arise in caring for homeless people with health problems and complex traumas, like addictions.
First Meeting: Commitment and Action
At the meeting, the first activities of the project were presented along with the guidelines for proper implementation. The entities that are part of the consortium have shared their points of view and their experience, delving into the first tasks they lead. Thus, CRESCER and ABD have established the methodology to address the needs analysis and research of good practices, while HVO-Querido has addressed the development of various training materials. On the other hand, ABD assumes responsibility for the coordination and dissemination of the project, as well as the creation of a European Support Network for initiatives that offer access to housing for homeless people with health problems and complex traumas, such as addictions.
International Collaboration
The Home4Health project, funded by the Erasmus+ program, will be implemented between January 2024 and June 2026, in collaboration with the following organizations: Asociación Bienestar y Desarrollo ABD as the project coordinator, CRESCER (Portugal), HVO-Querido (Netherlands), Cork Simon Community (Ireland) it will ensure a comprehensive and successful approach.
