This week, professionals and stakeholders from the partner organizations of the <\/span>EU Food Security HUB<\/b><\/a> project gathered in Milan for a two-day exchange program aimed at fostering cooperation, knowledge exchange, and the expansion of best practices in food security and social inclusion.<\/span><\/p>\n\n

The event took place on <\/span>January 28th and 29th, 2025<\/b> in Milan, which allowed the holding of relevant field visits and deepening collaboration with key local actors.<\/span><\/p>\n\n

Activities and Highlights<\/h2>\n\n
<\/div>\n\n

On <\/span>Tuesday, January 28th<\/b>, the partners met at <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Cascina Cuccagna<\/b><\/a>, where they explored the new Food Hub Cuccagna. Managed by ACRA, the project supports families in vulnerable situations ensuring access to food but also includes training and personal and family counseling, which draws connections with La Botiga\u2019s experience in El Prat.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n

Participants also engaged with <\/span>ESt\u00e0<\/b><\/a>, represented by Francesca La Rocca, and other local partners involved in food security initiatives. The first module test, <\/span>Sustainable Agriculture Training – Unit #3: Relationships between Agricultural Producers & Consumers<\/b>, was conducted.<\/span><\/p>\n\n

The afternoon featured a visit to <\/span>CasciNet<\/b><\/a>, where attendees learned about its <\/span>Food forest<\/b><\/a> project, agroecology, and permaculture practices. The day concluded with a “Social Aperitivo” at CasciNet\u2019s <\/span>Agriristoro<\/b><\/a>, allowing participants to taste locally produced goods and network in a relaxed setting.<\/span><\/p>\n\n

On <\/span>Wednesday, January 29th<\/b>, the group gathered at <\/span>So.De – Social delivery Hub<\/b><\/a>, which provides a social and environment friendly delivery service focusing on ecological transition, workers’ rights, and green mobility. Participants also visited <\/span>Rob de Matt<\/b><\/a>, a social inclusion restaurant where they later had lunch. The agenda included two additional module tests: <\/span>Inclusive Team Management – Unit #1: Stereotypes<\/b> and <\/span>Sustainable Food Systems Training – Unit #2: Climate Change and Food Systems<\/b>. The exchange concluded with a wrap-up and evaluation session.<\/span><\/p>\n\n
